Brass Monkey Music is the go-to repair shop in Buffalo, NY for maintenance and overhauls of woodwind and brass musical instruments. We work with students, schools, professional musicians, and hobbyists across Western New York. Our shop combines hands-on craftsmanship with modern equipment, including a 90-gallon ultrasonic tank capable of cleaning the largest tubas in their entirety.

Owner, Chief Repair Technician
Dan Lamancuso is a Williamsville native who graduated from Williamsville South High School in 2009. He went on to study Tuba Performance and Music Business at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. While pursuing a master’s degree at Michigan State University, Dan transitioned into the repair field and began apprenticing alongside expert technicians in East Lansing, and then in Buffalo, until 2018 when he opened Brass Monkey Music. Dan has been serving band programs in Western New York ever since and is dedicated to providing the highest quality brass and woodwind repair, instrument rentals, and used instrument sales and consignment.
When Dan is not repairing instruments, you can hear him perform locally with The American Legion Band Post 264, the Amherst Symphony Orchestra, the Western New York Chamber Ensemble, the Erie County Wind Ensemble, and more.

Kelsey Lamancuso earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the Crane School of Music. She holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College. She currently teaches 4th and 5th grade band at Pinehurst Elementary in the Frontier Central School District. She has performed with the Ithaca Community Band, Fall Creek Brass Band, Bones East, and the Ageless Brass Band.
Kelsey teaches private brass lessons at Brass Monkey Music. As a private teacher she caters to each student’s needs and ability level — from beginners to advanced players. Call or email to schedule a private lesson. You can also hear Kelsey perform with The American Legion Band Post 264.
