With a wide array of tools and techniques, we remove hard-to-reach dents. Using a specialized English wheel, the bell flare of a tuba can be carefully reshaped to reveal its original contour. Badly dented areas can be smoothed out to an unwrinkled surface once again. Further along the winding branches of your tuba, dents in difficult-to-reach areas can be accessed using extremely powerful rare-earth magnets and ball bearings.
A 90-gallon ultrasonic tank means your whole tuba gets cleaned
At Brass Monkey Music we feature a 90-gallon ultrasonic tank. Even the largest of tubas will completely submerge below water, meaning your entire instrument gets fully cleaned. Smaller tanks cannot handle such large instruments and only clean a portion of the tuba. Once the instrument is out of the ultrasonic cleaner, brushes are spun in all slide tubes and valve casings to remove any remaining buildup that causes valves and slides to stick. After a final rinsing, the valves and slides are reassembled using only the highest quality lubricants.
